Wissper follows a quietly spoken seven-year-old who can summon herself to any animal in distress simply by whispering “Sssshhh!” Each seven-minute episode drops her into a fresh ecosystem, from Arctic ice to meerkat tunnels, where she solves mini-crises with help from a core menagerie: Peggy the waddling penguin, surfer-wannabe croc Kev, fortune-cookie panda Dan and maternal tiger Stripes. Created by Dan Good, Lucy Chesher and Kevin Snoad, the 104-segment series is a German-British-Irish co-production filmed at 25 fps yet paced like classic 2-D cartoons. Channel 5’s Milkshake! block premiered it in 2015; KiKa carried it in Germany. Scripts came from a 10-writer room headed by Nick Wilson, with Joanna Ruiz voicing Wissper and a stable of UK voice veterans doubling the animal cast. The show ran until November 2019, quietly clocking up a second season while bigger brands grabbed headlines.
