James Martin presides over a half-hour format that splits a BBC studio with a sliding partition: two amateur cooks prepare identical dishes in isolation, tasting only through the host. A daily celebrity guest arrives to blind-judge both plates and crown a "Cook of the Day". Twenty-five editions were recorded by Shine TV and stripped across early-evening BBC One from 25 May to 26 June 2015, giving the winner little more than bragging rights and a short on-air handshake.
The concept travelled fast: LifeStyle Food picked it up for Australia, premiering the same run on 16 November 2015. Beyond that, the single series left no cookbook, no spin-off and no second commission; the title quietly returned to the BBC cupboard until Gary Lineker fronted an unrelated game under the same name eleven years later.
