Andrew Neil returned to the interviewer's chair on 8 May 2022, fronting a weekly half-hour politics programme that Channel 4 hoped would replicate the combative reputation of his cancelled BBC show. Broadcast at 6 pm each Sunday, the format paired Neil's forensic questioning with a rotating cast of Westminster heavyweights; from 25 September 2022 the slot expanded to 45 minutes and added former chancellor George Osborne and ex-shadow chancellor Ed Balls as standing commentators.
The programme arrived after Neil's turbulent stint founding GB News, offering him a terrestrial platform to cross-examine ministers, opposition figures and chief executives during a period of government instability. Three series ran in total, producing 27 episodes before Channel 4 quietly axed the title on 1 July 2023 as part of wider content cuts.
Critics found the results polite rather than incendiary. The Telegraph dismissed the opener as "a middling half hour of chat, chuckles and cheeky jokes", noting that neither Neil nor his guests appeared eager to rekindle the bruising encounters that once defined his BBC output.
