The 1% Club

Comedian Lee Mack hosts this ITV quiz where 100 contestants battle logic puzzles that only 1% of the public can solve.

Overview

The 1% Club turns the traditional quiz on its head by ditching general-knowledge questions in favour of visual and logical brainteasers that have been pre-tested on thousands of Britons. One hundred players start with £1,000 each, answering questions calibrated from the 90th to the 1st percentile; every wrong answer knocks you out and adds your cash to a rolling jackpot that can reach £100,000. After the halfway mark you may sacrifice your grand to skip a single question, but if you reach the final 1% teaser you risk everything for an equal cut of the accumulated pot.

Filmed at Dock10 and delayed from 2020 by the pandemic, the show launched on ITV in April 2022 and immediately became the channel’s biggest new entertainment launch in four years, averaging 5.3 million viewers for its first eight-part run. A December 2025 spin-off, The 1% Club Rollover, cranked the stakes to £500,000 by letting surviving contestants and unclaimed jackpots roll forward across five nightly episodes.

Created by Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach, the format has since sold to more than a dozen territories, from Australia’s Seven Network to the U.S. editions on Amazon Prime Video and Fox, proving that a single percentile can travel the world.
