Teen Mom UK

MTV reality series following British teenage mothers since 2016.

Starring Amber Butler· Chloe Patton· Sassi Simmonds
Overview

Amber Butler, Chloe Patton, Megan Salmon-Ferrari, Mia Boardman and later Sassi Simmonds, Shannon Wise, Naomi Konickova and Emma Finch allowed cameras to track their pregnancies, births and first years of motherhood across 88 episodes produced by True North Productions. Filming began in 2016 when Butler, Patton, Salmon-Ferrari and Boardman were 17-19 and living in Blackpool, Nottingham, Chelmsford and Southampton; the first season captured Butler arguing with boyfriend Ste Rankine over nappy duty, Patton crying through post-natal check-ups, Salmon-Ferrari discovering infidelity weeks after Dylan Siggs proposed in a caravan on his parents’ drive, and Boardman’s emergency caesarean after Marliya’s heartbeat dipped. The format sticks to the American parent franchise: fixed-rig shoots in council flats, parents’ houses and chain pubs, intercut with to-camera confessionals recorded months later.

Cast turnover is high. Naomi Konickova and daughter Kyanna left after series two, returned for series nine. Mia Boardman exited after series one, came back as a guest, then rejoined full-time. Megan Salmon-Ferrari’s second pregnancy with Dulcie Mae book-ended series two; she departed after series seven. Chloe Patton remains the longest-serving original member, still present in series twelve, now parenting two children with partner Jordan Edwards and chronicling mortgage applications and wedding plans instead of GCSE coursework. The show screens on MTV UK and streams on Paramount+, with episodes premiering in the US as Teen Mum since July 2017.
