Holly Willoughby presides over two teams—one led by Bradley Walsh, the other by Frank Lampard—who rack up points through sports quizzes, physical stunts and the occasional appearance of a giant inflatable football. Filmed at Fountain Studios before a live audience, each 45-minute episode (60 in the final run) ends the moment Willoughby’s whistle sounds, a nod to the football maxim that play continues until the official stop. Comedians Seann Walsh and Romesh Ranganathan supply running gags and score-keeping, while former footballer Jimmy Bullard fetches props and joins the chaos in series one.
Hungry Bear Media produced the 20 editions that aired between 11 April 2015 and 4 April 2017, commissioning the show after ITV pilots failed to land a mainstream sports panel hit. Executive producer Dan Baldwin, Willoughby’s husband, pitched the host’s lack of sports savvy as an asset to viewers equally clueless. Ratings slid from 2.5 million for the first series to 1.6 million for the third, prompting ITV to blow the final whistle after twenty episodes.
