PJ Masks

Three children transform into animal-themed superheroes to battle villains in their hometown after dark.

Starring Addison Holley· Kyle Breitkopf· Roman Lutterotti
Overview

Connor, Greg and Amaya slip into pyjamas that grant them superpowers at sunset, becoming Catboy, Gekko and Owlette to defend Tarabiscoville from Romeo, Luna Girl and a rotating gallery of nocturnal nuisances. The 11-minute episodes follow a rigid formula: the trio discover a daytime mystery, discover the villain’s scheme, squabble, reconcile and deploy signature moves—super-speed stripes, chameleon camouflage, owl-wing gusts—before the town wakes up. French author Romuald Racioppo’s picture-book series Les Pyjamasques provides the visual DNA; Entertainment One, Frog Box and TeamTO translate the watercolour pages into slick CGI that keeps licensing departments happy.

Voice casts shift almost annually: Jacob Ewaniuk originated Catboy, yet by season six Kai Harris occupies the role, a turnover that mirrors the show’s production relay between Paris, London and Toronto. Hasbro’s 2019 purchase of eOne for $3.8 billion injected toy-line synergies, so storylines now introduce vehicles, power-ups and extra heroes such as An Yu and the Power Heroes to refresh the aisle every quarter. Broadcast windows move just as fluidly: France 5 and TF1 host domestic premieres, while Disney Junior and Disney+ handle the 151-episode catalogue worldwide.

The real engine is bedtime itself; each adventure ends with the heroes back under duvets before parents open the door, preserving the central fantasy that nothing disrupts the adult world. That promise, repeated 257 times and counting, keeps the franchise quietly indestructible.
