Mark Andrew Manning and his crew at Regal Pawn haggle over Nazi daggers, 1960s guitars and vintage arcade machines in this British offshoot of the Las Vegas original. The formula is identical: a punter walks in, an expert is summoned, the family banters, a price is struck. The difference is the accents, the drizzle outside the Sealand premises and the occasional appearance of Robert “The Robster” Fiddaman to verify a Beatles pressing.
History UK ordered 24 episodes across two seasons, debuting 26 August 2013 and wrapping 10 November 2014. Production company Leftfield Pictures cast Manning’s best mate Mark Lever Holland, Marco Holland on guns, daughter Vicki Manning as manager, militaria buff Simon Penworth and, in season two, 16-year-old history-mad trainee Liam. Off-camera, the shop collapsed into bankruptcy in 2015 and Companies House recorded a strike-off request; the unit later sat empty, listed for sale by local estate agents.
The show never matched the US ratings, yet it supplies the same low-stakes pleasure of watching strangers discover their attic relic is either treasure or tat. When Vicki died of cancer in 2021, tributes recalled her on-screen nickname “Pawn Star UK’s Golden Girl”.
