Naked Attraction

Dating show where a fully-clothed picker selects from six nude strangers revealed from the feet up.

Starring Anna Richardson· Ruben Whitter· Chrissie Wunna
Overview

Anna Richardson fronts the Studio Lambert production that debuted on Channel 4 on 25 July 2016 and ended with its seventh run on 27 March 2024. A fully-dressed singleton stands before six coloured booths that rise in stages, exposing calves, thighs, genitals, torsos and faces until one naked body remains; the picker then strips for the final decision and the pair meet clothed for breakfast at 9 a.m. the next day. Episodes film for up to twelve hours, contestants receive no fee, and chaperones escort them to the toilet to prevent accidental encounters.

Ofcom fielded repeated viewer complaints about the full-frontal nudity yet never ruled against the show, citing its post-watershed slot and absence of sexual activity. American transmission on HBO Max in September 2023 drew fire from the Parents Television Council, which labelled the programme “pornographic” and demanded its removal; HBO kept the episodes live. International versions have launched in Germany, Denmark, Italy, Finland, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the Czech Republic, while the Netherlands produced a local variant, Undress for Love, in 2018.

Richardson confirmed in March 2025 that no further series are planned, ending the format after 65 episodes and a handful of clip-show specials. The programme leaves behind a reputation as British television’s most matter-of-fact appraisal of naked flesh, reducing attraction to skin, posture and the awkward shuffle of feet revealed first.
