Molly and Mack

CBeebies series about 11-year-old Molly helping her brother run a toy stall in a Scottish market hall.

Starring Adam Mitchell
Overview

Molly (Mimi Robertson) and Mack (Joshua Haynes) run a toy stall inside The Big Hub, a community hall in fictional Bridgetown where stallholders trade under Moira’s watchful eye. Each 14-minute episode follows the siblings as they solve small crises with help from Alice’s gift stall, Bob’s fruit barrow and Mrs Juniper’s café, while Dad James oversees the kids’ club and Daisy tends animals at the nearby vet surgery.

The programme’s structure is built around two songs. A character sings The Oops Song the moment a problem surfaces; once a solution crystallises, another character answers with The Idea Song. This musical call-and-response happens in every story, giving pre-school viewers a predictable rhythm across the 100 regular episodes plus one 2019 Christmas special.

Filming took place in Govan and North Queensferry, using Pollokshields Burgh Hall as The Hub and the Forth Bridge as Bridgetown’s postcard backdrop. Created by Peter Hynes and led by director Adrian Mead, the show aired on CBeebies from November 2018 to November 2022 across five series, with repeats continuing on ABC Kids in Australia.
