Dionne Bromfield, Richard Wisker and Ceallach Spellman fronted the first series on 6 May 2011, broadcasting from BBC Television Centre before the show shifted to Elstree and finally The London Studios. The hour-long Friday slot blended celebrity interviews, viewer challenges, comedy sketches and pop performances, with a rotating squad of presenters aged 11-16 keeping the energy relentlessly high.
The format shrank to 30 minutes in 2015 after nine series and 104 episodes, by which time the line-up had evolved to include Anaïs Gallagher, Harvey Cantwell and Molly Rainford. Saltbeef Productions oversaw the entire run, winning Children’s BAFTA for Best Entertainment in 2012 after losing the same category the previous year. The series ended on 31 July 2015, leaving CBBC without its signature weekly mash-up of games, gossip and playground-controlled chaos.
