Hugh Dennis presided over this brisk 2012 improv showcase that recycled the Whose Line Is It Anyway? formula while tipping the floor to a younger British roster: Greg Davies, Laura Solon, Marek Larwood, Justin Edwards, Pippa Evans and Humphrey Ker rotated through eight half-hour episodes, with David Armand routinely sent up for his interpretive-dance mime of chart hits. New garnish came via the ceiling-mounted “Sideways Scene”, a floor-level set that let players act horizontally while the camera pretended they were upright, a stunt later lifted wholesale when The CW revived Whose Line in 2013. Other games, audience-prompted and otherwise, included the rewind-happy “Forward/Rewind” and the split-syntax “Double Speak”. Dan Patterson, again producing through Angst, kept the edit tight and the tone flippant; the series ran 14 January to 4 March 2011 and, though not re-commissioned, seeded ABC’s celebrity-fronted American spin-off Trust Us with Your Life the following year.
