Alesha's Street Dance Stars

CBBC street-dance contest where crews battle for Alesha Dixon’s crown and a money-cannot-buy prize.

Overview

Alesha Dixon fronts this brisk CBBC tournament that turns playground crews into champions across three short series. Judges rotate: Series 1 pairs popping pioneer Turbo and choreographer Kenrick Sandy with Lizzie Gough; Sandy exits in 2012 as Dwayne Nosworthy and Suzette Brissett step in; Series 3 swaps Brissett for Kymberlee Jay. Each run packs auditions, themed rounds and a finale inside two weeks, with the winning crew taking both the title and a prize money literally cannot purchase.

The first series ran 22 August to 2 September 2011, the second from 20 August 2012, and the third followed the same tight August window. Production keeps the energy high: crews perform in school halls, outdoor plazas and studio sets, with Dixon coaching from the sidelines and the panel scoring on originality, synchronicity and crowd reaction. No series exceeds six episodes, so every routine counts and the eliminations feel merciless.
