26 Men

26 Men

Inspired by historical records from 1901, this Western series brings the exploits of the Arizona Rangers to the small screen. The Arizona Territorial Legislature established a small, elite force consisting of exactly twenty-six individuals to maintain order across a vast, unruly landscape. Tris Coffin stars as Captain Tom Rynning, leading his limited squad against the lawlessness of the frontier. Joining him is Kelo Henderson as the young recruit Clint Travis.

Filmed on location in Arizona, the production utilised local residents to fill out the background of various episodes, lending a sense of authenticity to the visual backdrop. Producer Russell Hayden, a veteran of the Hopalong Cassidy era, moved behind the camera to oversee this project. While the cast technically numbered over two dozen, the focus remained firmly on the central duo as they enforced justice. The show provided a steady diet of action for audiences who preferred their heroes to be principled yet formidable. By focusing on a specific historical unit, the series carved out its own niche among the many lawman dramas of the late fifties.
